"No Be You Get The Radio Station" "Every Good Song From Yentown Artists Deserves A Spot". Rhodash To OAP's

Image
Rhodash   Rhodash— source: www.Facebook.com Dancehall artist, Rhodash has called out On-Air-Personalities on a noticeable trend that has become a norm in the industry. The Dancehall queen asked these persons who have been given the responsibility for ensuring that fairness is a watchword, to stand by it. "No need for cliques and cartel", the vibrant singer said on her Facebook post. Rhodash's Facebook post Rhodash's assertion is as a result of careful monitoring of radio activities in the State, which, to an extent, is undeniable, as there seems to be certain sights of bias and lack of transparency in the selection process.. We hope this is corrected and equality takes preeminence.

Black Geez Is Not Happy With Rich Southern Ijaw Folks.

Image
Black Geez Black Geez Bayelsan rapper, Black Geez , was not in a tranquil state of mind the other day as he sent unapologetic shots at the  'wealthy men' of Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State, for turning a blind eye to his music and impact on the music industry. The rapper is considered, by the majority, as one of the best rappers to emerge from the Niger Delta, and Nigeria at large. Geezy's frustration can be traced to the realization of his ability to go toe-to-toe with such acts as Olamide and Phyno, two of Nigeria's most successful indigenous rappers who he idolizes. Black Geez's Facebook posts While these aforementioned rappers, who respectively own the East and West, have gone on to attain and achieve greatly, the same can't be said for Black Geez, on the national level. The one who carries Ijaw Rap on his back, even with the rapping paraphernalia he possesses, will need some help getting Timaya, Phyno and Olamide in the studio, and m...

Yawng Boss Laments Over Delay Of 'Welcome To Yentown E.P.'.

Image
Yawng Boss source: www.Instagram.com/yawngboss775 Rapper Yawng Boss couldn't hold back his frustration over the delay of his incoming E.P. 'Welcome To Yentown' which was originally scheduled for 1st of April 2019. The rapper has apportioned a certain amount of blames to his colleagues, who he claimed haven't been helpful. Yawng Boss' Post 1 By virtue of his Facebook post, one can deduce that things are not going as planned (at least, for now). The rapper who just dropped the visual of  'Retired Heartbreaker'  (one of the singles of Welcome To Yentown), did also give hints at his inability to have full access to the studio when appropriate, which, consequently has slowed down the album process. Yawng Boss' Post 2 We at Sleek Buzz are not yet armed with full information on this development, yet it's of the utmost importance for us to pray for him; and offer our assistance (whichever way we can). Yawng Boss' menta...

KiLa Drops His Version Of Dangote.

Image
KiLa Dangote cover art. Right on the heels of his ' Lost Pages ' project, which has been buzzing for a while now, KiLa drops his version of Burna Boy's Dangote. Dangote has the rapper lauding the spirit of the hustle; even while speaking from the standpoint of an 'underdog,' the positivity in his voice and lines caresses the track. This year is definitely one with which the rapper wants to make a statement, as the line-up of songs have been rather impressive... Listen to Dangote Here

Funkcleff's YAK Remixes (Vol.1) Is A Combination Of 'Just A Minute' And 'Wow!'

Image
YAK Remixes Vol.1 art It's a Sunday, and I couldn't make it to church. My mind has been wandering aimlessly around ideas, finally stopping at Funkcleff's YAK Remixes (Vol.1), prompting us at Sleek Buzz to say something........ Some days ago, Funkcleff, having been quiet for a while, hit us with 'YAK Remixes (Vol. 1)'. Now, what amazes me about this project is the concept behind it. It took me 7 minutes 31 seconds to go through YAK Remixes on my SoundCloud. The trick applied by the artist is working. Make beautiful remixes of popular Nigerian songs but make every track relatively short. Funkclef in the studio. YAK Remixes is a five-track project that can be enjoyed by anyone at anytime. From being thankful in 'Favour' (Uyo Meyo Cover) to.... affirming the stereotype around loyalty, and how one's social status determines the amount of faithfuls one gets in Oyi (Oyi Cover) to.... an expression of praise, admiration and love for his lady of...

It's Irene Blaq's Birthday And Sleek Buzz Have Come Up With Five Reasons Why The Celebrity Is Loved.

Image
IRENE BLAQ (Irene Blaq) Across social media platforms, especially within the entertainment sphere in Bayelsa, a multitude of celebratory messages have been sent to one of the state's most decorated and loveable publicist/blogger, Irene Blaq. While she's having a fun time soaking up the attention, we at Sleek Buzz have come up with five reasons why the goofy lady is one of the most loved in Bayelsa. 1. She Makes Us Laugh—  Not a day goes by without something to laugh about. Take a walk through Irene's social media pages and you'd agree with us on this. This one is really why we love her. 2. Her Unwavering Love For American Rapper Young Thug —   Okay. This one surprises all of us. Young Thug this. Young Thug that. "Young Thug and I just broke up." and "Young Thug and I are back together." Although some of us have been praying for this union to become a thing, the rest of us should be on the look out for signs that this is really a...

KiLa Drops 'Lost Pages' - The Missing Pieces of B.O.W..

Image
(Cover art Lost Pages) Last year, a friend of mine in Port Harcourt arranged a meeting between myself and a friend of hers. This client needed publicity for his product and he needed it urgently. We had the meeting and I was given the responsibility of attracting customers to this product. I (we) did the best we  could and I went back to Yenagoa. Last week I bumped into this client and he was too bubbly. He told me customers have increased and this has had a ripple effect on sales. He would be getting a promotion at his place of work. His last words — "Garbi, I have something bigger coming this year. You're ready?" I'm happy things turned out fine for him. (KiLa having a studio session) But I'm  happier for my friend and rapper, KiLa, who has successfully dropped another mixtape album called "Lost Pages." Frankly speaking, I haven't listened to "Lost Pages" yet. But I've kept my eyes peeled for comments and reviews on...

Reactions As Dolphin Is Caught In Foropa community, Bayelsa State.

Image
Some days ago I posted photos of a dolphin on Facebook (original photos were by a user, Victor Alamene). According to an eye witness, this peaceful and intelligent sea animal was caught in Foropa, a community in southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state. But what I'm startled by is the many shocking reactions in the the comment section. Dolphins have been declared an endangered species all over the world, and it is an offense to the kill them.

A Day At The Restaurant, Eh Go Better: Chiff Timz And The Biggest Chant In Contemporary Nigeria.

Image
*cover art Eh Go Better* "Can I have another round of extra eba and soup, madam?" My request would have been met with much excitement if it was made two occasions earlier, but too bad, i was going for a third round. The unpleasant look on the saleslady's face gave glaring and bold hints - those ones that didn't need the specialty of a detective to grasp - other restaurant attendants also were surprised at my guts. However, this didn't stop me from enjoying my meal. Food, they say, is the way to a man's heart, and I ate like someone whose heart was in shreds and had been told by the grim reaper himself, "eat lots of food or I'd come for your life and have your friends thinking you died of heartbreak".  Yes, I'll fight for my life. Yes, the grim reaper must be kept at bay at all costs and, yes, the cost of food must be reduced. In spite of my many triumphs over the angel of doom, it was only a matter of time before exhaustion ...
