Endi Ziki Talks Upcoming Pan African Festival Event, Importance Of Women In Nation Building, Top Five Bayelsan Artists And More In Exclusive Interview
We humans are social animals. We have been this way since the ancient times. Even in the Bible, God saw the importance of socializing and thus created Eve for Adam and Adam for Eve.
In contemporary times, and as the complications of life continue to persist, the need for a sociable man has become more pivotal. This sociability comes with various responsibilities.
Truly, the meaning of socialization has drastically expanded. From what was once considered the union of people, socialization, in modern times, has attached other valuable meanings to "itself".
One of these expansive meanings encompasses service to humanity, which actually is where Trendi Isaac's ( Endi Ziki) capacity lies.
Endi Ziki, as one who himself once had his back against the world, has chosen to put the needs of others before his. This empathy towards those in less favourable conditions is responsible for Endi Ziki's commendable imprints on African soil.
From Botswana to Guinea, and from Namibia to South Africa and to other countries, The PanAfrican Festival has through its subsidiary, Miss Pan African Queen focused on women empowerment which, according to him, is what builds a formidable nation. "Well , this was as a result of my passion for African development . And I am very aware of the fact that women are the builders of the future and if the women are empowered then the future is secured . So I decided to centre on African women development through My Pageant platform , MISS PAN AFRICAN QUEEN", the founder of The Miss Pan African Festival, Endi Ziki said.
"The Pan African Festival is the celebration of arts and culture through entertainment", he continued.
On November 1st, 2019, Africans will converge on ASTERS, one of the most exquisite venues in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. This act of convergence has its objectives: to bring Africans to Bayelsa and also, to give back to society.
The Sleek Buzz did hook up with one of Africa's innovative, people-centred and founder of Pan African Festival, Trendi Isaac (Endi Ziki) for an interview.
Let's get Started.........
Good evening, boss How are you?
I'm very well, thank you
Can you tell us what the Pan African Festival is about?
THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL is the celebration of African arts and culture through entertainment
This is great. I see that THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL has been responsible for a lot of great projects in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. How did you manage to achieve this?
Well , this was as a result of my passion for African development . And I am very aware of the fact that women are the builders of the future and if the women are empowered then the future is secured . So I decided to centre on African women development through My Pageant platform , MISS PAN AFRICAN QQUEEN through which we’ve been able to reach out to over 400,000 people across africa through our feed the streets programme and community empowerment projects and school reach out programmes and university Scholarship programme.
Wow, 400,000 is such an astronomical figure. It surely takes passion for what you do, to reach and touch many lives. However, funding is an important factor here. How does your organization raise funds for what you do?
Well, we have been able to partner with a few individuals in different african countries who have in recent times supported our vision through our national representatives and directors in these countries , though not as smooth as I sound but where there is a vision pursued with so much passion there must always be a way.
Considering the exploits THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL has made throughout Africa, which country would you say has really been your favorite as regards their reception?
Wow, tough question but definitely we have a stronghold in Botswana , Guinea , Ghana , Sierra Leone , Zimbabwe , Namibia , Lesotho , South Africa , but we are everywhere.
And Nigeria, the supposed parent location?
Yea, sure, Nigeria. But those countries have been our favorites in terms of support.
Interesting. Let's go back in time. When did everything start? THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL, when and how did you get the conviction that this was what you really wanted?
I've been nursing the dream since 2013 but finally started in 2017. And in 3 years ..boom 400k people touched by us, that's a major achievement. And we are just getting started.
Tell us About MISS PAN AFRICAN QUEEN.
Miss Pan African Queen is an International Beauty Pageant aimed at empowering the African girl child.
On November 1st, 2019, THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL will have Africans converge on Yenagoa. Why this move?
Bayelsa came into the picture because I started out here and I thought it was about time to bring back home all the great things my people have been seeing me do . And the idea is not to prove anything to anyone but to just continue our Charity programmes and empowerment programmes ... And also have Bayelsans benefit from all the Great things I've been privileged to do.
Immediately after the Bayelsa thing we have a few tours in Lagos and Accra before November elapses.
You've always been a part of the Bayelsan Entertainment Industry. What's your take on the industry? Is it growing? Stagnant? Declining?
The industry still has upgrades to undergo
compared to the Lagos market, where it's pretty competitive and tasking.
Bayelsa is laid back and for growth to happen, there has to be some type of unity between stakeholders. And home based acts still have to think far and Big. Bayelsa is a small place to do things.
One of the ways you've decided to give back is have Bayelsan acts perform at THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL event, are we expecting acts from other African countries too?
Yes. A guest is coming in from the UK. And also the best home based act at the show will be sponsored with a music video, and we'll have him or her perform at few of our events in Lagos.
This is amazing. As we get to the closing part of this interview, can you name your top five Bayelsan acts, if any comes to mind?
Hahahahahah Kinda tough to do but currently people I fancy:
Wallzee, Jah Wondah, Jovin, L–KEY, Soda presh, Ruthy Jay ( female rapper). In no particular order.
Impressive list. Any final word for those who wants to follow in your footsteps?
Last words are "the journey to greatness is not served like breakfast on bed".
Thank you for having this time with us, and all the best with THE PAN AFRICAN FESTIVAL on November 1st.
Thank you so much.
