In any field, there are Kings and Queens, there are pioneers; those who stayed awake while others slept. They are responsible for the past that is having a striking effect on the present and will influence the future. Their ethical standards, as to how they achieved glory, even in the face of adversarial circumstances, is studied by newcomers.

What is hackneyed, nowadays, is the cautious attempt to obliterate or, to show leniency, rewrite history. — Sleek Buzz.

History, irrespective of its nature, has to be placed under intensive care, pampered and fed to grow in the bosom of truth, because history in the hands of manipulators, however buttered, is a weapon of mass misinformation.

Pakiss10's tale is one of resilience and grace, one of many navigation. He has been in the industry from its embryonic stages, witnessed the shift in sound and culture, grown with it and remained relevant. Few artists possess his propensity for adaptation.

It is 2019 and the guy who made 'Grave Clothe' is still among the tops.

Well, let's take a necessary peep at recent history. In 2013 the rapper made a life-changing decision concerning his life, he would be threading through a new and unfamiliar path and chasing a new destiny. This decision was consequential; he would lose some friends, his fan base would be gravely affected. His music, formerly characterized by 'churlishness,' would undergo divine surgery — with Jesus Christ as the surgeon, and the Holy Spirit a source of inspiration.

"Well, the truth is, I lost some fans and gained some others. You know how it is when you change the line of business you do.. But I still have some old fans who are still following, they told me once a fan always a fan".—Pakiss10

Pakiss10, in his absence art.

In all of this, Pakiss10's wins have outpaced his losses. He has gone on to become one of the most prolific and passionate distributors of the Good News of Christ, reaching new heights and pushing back the frontiers of 'Gospel music'. He seems to have dodged the bullet that comes with being in the music business — fairweather friends.

When changes occur, acquaintances, allies and close friends get affected; they change too.
They either depart from you or stay with you. Or they become indifferent, and Pakiss10's case is not different.

Friendship is one of the desires of humans. The need to have those confidential moments shared with others is an innate make of man. Pakiss10's friends are still there with/for him (at least, few are), and this is a good thing.

Sleek Buzz hooked up with this amazing fellow for an interview and it's as follows:

Sleek Buzz: Okay. Good evening, Pakiss10, how are you today?

Pakiss10: I'm fine, you?

Sleek Buzz: I'm good, thank you. Recently, on social media,  you've been promoting a soon-to-drop single. Can you tell us about it?

Pakiss10: Well, Shadows is one of the songs compiled on the soon to drop mixtape album titled 'A New Dawn'.
It's a song that cuts across every aspect of life.
It emphasis is on moving or walking into the light while leaving the shadows behind.
The light represents the future or what the future holds for everyone. Meaning...there's hope if you can press into the light, however, the shadows represents the past achievements, pain, struggles, hurts just to mention a few.
It means if we must walk into the light(the future, what God has for us), we must leave our shadows behind.

Sleek Buzz: There's something we've come to realize about your songs. The ideas behind them seem to come from inexplicable places, for instance, your 'Grave Clothe' song. How do you get inspired? What inspires you?

Pakiss10: I lost some of my friends and close relatives to the cold hands of death. It was in the moment of grief and pain, wondering where they would be, asking questions like, 'if they've lived up to the expectations of God'.
And I later added some other experience to pass the complete message, which is, the grave has clothes which seduce, lure and lead great people to the grave before their time.

Sleek Buzz: You're considered as one of the greatest artists to come out of Bayelsa, does this put pressure on you to be better with your craft, or does it make you relax, sit back and enjoy the accolades you get?

Pakiss10: Well, I'm not under any pressure though, but I put in a lot of work lately, and then I realised it's not by work but by his grace, so I'm trusting God to shine his light on my craft and open the ears of the world to my craft.

Sleek Buzz: With regard to your music, the switch in your message from the then-music to what you now do, which is, the proclamation of Christ, has there been a difficult moment?

Pakiss10: Yeah... it wasn't easy for me at first, because I had to write songs without explicit contents, something I wasn't used to, but thank God I had a pastor who believed i can do it.

Sleek Buzz: Yes, It's pretty shocking; how you do this.
Your old fans, do you still have them? Are they still your fans?

Pakiss10: Well, the truth is, I lost some fans and gained some others, you know how it is when you change the line of business you do. But I still have some old fans who are still following, they told me: "once a fan always a fan".

Sleek Buzz: And your colleagues? Did you lose any?

Pakiss10: Yeah, a couple of them.

Shadow cover art.

Sleek Buzz: What is your take on entertainment in Bayelsa? Is the industry growing?

Pakiss10: Music in Bayelsa is like a child suffering from malnutrition that needs a balanced diet. What I mean by that is, everybody has a role or two to play. From the government to the media houses to the DJ's and, lastIy, the masses.
I must commend some persons who are doing a great job but, you see, music is too big for one section of people to establish in Bayelsa.

Sleek Buzz: Can you tell us more about your song 'Shadows'? What should we expect? Who produced it?

Pakiss10: It's like putting ingredients in soup, imagine the taste?  Well, let me not over hype the song. Producer's name will be unveiled later.
But expect something new, expect something revealing.

Sleek Buzz: Finally, which song of yours is your favorite? Mine is Grave Clothe...

Pakiss10: Make I laugh first... Hahahahahaha....this one na jamb question oh.. Well, believe me, there are lots of songs you haven't heard, so if I mention their names you might be confused. LOL.
But I must say, Grave Clothe did the magic, the reception is massive.

Sleek Buzz: It sure did. The magic can't be explained. Any final words for your fans?

Pakiss10: Stay Positive, push what makes you happy, fight depression and keep the faith. Pursue what makes you happy.

Sleek Buzz: Thank you, Pakiss10, for having this time with us. We wish you the best.

Pakiss10: The pleasure is all mine. Thanks for sharing my story. I'm grateful.

Sleek Buzz: You're welcome.

Pakiss10 is dropping a single soon, and it's titled 'Shadows'.
