StarBlink's Necessary Question Of Bayelsan Artists Launches Interesting Discussion.
Bayelsan artist StarBlink A.K.A Mr. I dey on things, set out to uncover the impression Bayelsans have of their artists. The artist who recently wowed fans at the just-concluded Odi festival, did this with a question.
"Tell me one thing you like about Bayelsan musicians, and tell me one thing you hate about us. Be sincere". He posted on his Facebook.
At the time of putting this piece together, that call for a needful discussion has raked in over two hundred and fifty-seven (257) engagement (both from comments and reactions), with fans giving opinions of varying degrees.
In the midst of 'Bayelsan artists are hardworking' and 'Bayelsan artists make music because of its perceived influential role as regards getting the females' love', some belief stayed prevalent. Pride? Fearfulness? (especially when it comes to exploring other spaces). Love? Hatred? All of these and more were standpoints of which the discussion took shape.
"Most of them are into music because they wan to get cheap girls, and they think of blowing more than bin musical.....they dont have inspiration and passion for music itself, their message is zero,...how can u be singing about how u spend money, wen u dont have money? and the pride ehnnnn.... Plus no unity", said Oyimasue, Maxwell Ebiaki.
Maxwell's take can be seen littered all over the comment section. However, for Neverdie Bright, the show of absolute solidarity for Bayelsan artists, is unrelenting. He writes:
"BY artist are blast..
I luv all
Don't mind anyone
Haters go talk anyhow
That's celebrities life". StarBlink was obviously impressed by Bright's take that he replied, "Guy you burst my cappas with your commentπ―".
In an act to totally give the cold shoulder to the exploits of Bayelsan artists back home, one commenter by name David, Utchennah Hard said, "Depends on the person but one thing be sey una dey fear to move outside go start new movement, like e b like sey una too dey comfortable for the zone, una dey fear how e go tough for the other side... I stand to be corrected sha π".
While this discussion was in motion and things had started to look pretty bad for Bayelsan artists, one commenter, Daniella Francis decided to make light the issue. She said, "Almost all the bayelsa artiste i know are handsom, but what i dont like is their pride".
Daniella's stance is a plus for Bayelsan artists. But as they basked in the euphoria of Daniella's admiration, they must prepare for Joyboy, Tonflex Destiny's obscure contribution. "Many tins", Joyboy said. And upon further questioning by StarBlink, Joyboy continued, "Starblink Allwell, Everybody whant to blow at ones, one of b y producer whant to to come on stage, then an upcoming act of one song recorded is just provoking rayking instult don come out".
It is rather the situation of childishness and too much exaggeration, as opined by Hypeman Cleanstone. He said, "So many of Dem act childish, b4 Dem release jam Dem go talk for months, after Dem release jam d next word na,my song trending over d world, song wey bayelsa never know finish". StarBlink affirmed Cleanstone's stance with a "πππ Guy you hit this one well, that's a very big problem some of us have, we love hype over reality and that's too bad" reply.
This is arguably one of the best industry discussions, especially as it concerns
Bayelsan entertainment. The discussion is still ongoing on Facebook and as an act of goodwill Sleek Buzz will put out the link to this discussion, so that you too can be a part of it.
