FunkCleff Celebrates Birthday— We Review Some Stellar Wins By The Gifted Artist So Far.

It was a joyous and maybe the most memorable day for artist FunkCleff. His social media handles did witness heavy bombaradment by fans. Phone calls. Text messages. Lots of I love yous (from both sexes). Yes, no 'no homos,' at the end of messages from his male friends, the celebratory atmosphere would certainly have annihilated such an idea from the minds of men. However, only on that day would the act be excusable.

It was FunkCleff's birthday, and we at the Sleek Buzz are happy to join in this celebration. FunkCleff, who currently is in the city of Port Harcourt, is having a swell time touring the city's most influential radio stations. This is good for his art, the level at which he operates at the moment calls for such a boisterous move.

To those who have stalked him from afar this year, this feat might come off as too sudden, yet to those whose lenses have stayed glued to his career since 2019 began, this is simply  the result of other cumulative triumphs. Therefore, as a way of us celebrating FunkCleff, the Sleek Buzz have decided to put together three stellar wins by him so far.

Okay....... Here we go!

-THE RELEASE OF YAK REMIXES (VOL.1).

In March, FunkCleff, after a long break from the game, made a return with a project he calls YAK Remixes (Vol.1). YAK Remixes (Vol.1) is a collective remake of then-relevant Nigerian songs. It's a five-track project, quite short and appealing for listeners who are into quickies. The introduction of YAK Remixes (Vol.1) created a positive buzz around FunkCleff's art, one that would get him a place at the apex. Some memorable songs from YAK Remixes are Favour, Oyi and Dangote.

-INSIDE LIFE WAS RECOGNIZED BY PHEELS MR.PRODUCER.

In April, FunkCleff dropped a video that served as a means of protesting against the extrajudicial killings being carried out by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, popularly known as SARS.  The song, which did birth the mantra 'Stray bullet no dey ask question' was so relatable that it garnered positive reviews from fans, and then days later, the video caught the attention of A-list Nigerian music producer, Pheez Mr. Producer. Pheelz couldn't hide his admiration for Inside Life. In his words:

" So I saw a video on @funkcleff's page and I fell in love with it. Thought I'd add my own twist to it. And here it is – stray bullet no dey ask Questions #Endsars shout out to @funkcleff 💯 RIP KOLADE".

-A GUEST APPEARANCE ON ERIGGA'S VICTIMS.

In June, FunkCleff posted on his Facebook that he and rapper Erigga had an incoming collaborative song. Days later, this claim would be confirmed by the release of Victims, a song that came about Erigga's freestyle session with Akivated. Victims tells the usual story of the street: hardship, false accusation, indiscriminate killings and other social vices. The role the police have played in contributing to such a menacing environment is also not left out. FunkCleff was as bright as ever on Victims. Bro,  that chorus.
Okay, so here we are. Quite some gigantic feats, right.
The staff of Sleek Buzz are wishing him the best as the year continues. Happy birthday, FunkCleff.

PS: Guys, always have your no homo messages typed out before you send the 'I love you' text to a homie. This is an unwritten law, so they say.
